 Commissioner Zak Crotts

COMMISSIONER ZAK CROTTS

Commissioner Crotts, born on November 3rd, 1982 at Lexington Memorial Hospital, is a lifelong resident of Davidson County and graduate of Central Davidson High School.   He remained in the Central area until four years ago and relocated to the West Arcadia area.   He is the very proud father of Hannah and Aaron Crotts who both attend Davidson County Schools.   Both Hannah and Aaron are very active in sports and their dad greatly enjoys spending his time picking them up and going to their games. Commissioner Crotts served our State and Nation in the NC Army National Guard from 1999 until 2005. He continued his education by attending Davidson County Community College where he studied Accounting and Taxes.   His past professional experiences include being an office manager for an accounting firm and financial officer for a manufacturing company.  Commissioner Crotts is currently the owner and C.E.O. of Spartan Insurance Group, Inc.   Under his leadership they have managed to expand Spartan into four states and have agents in both Carolinas.

Inspired by his maternal grandparents, he worked within the Republican party since a very young age. His family instilled into him a strong work ethic, determination, family values, listening skills, and true conservative principles. Commissioner Crotts used these skills to be elected as the Davidson County Republican Party Treasurer as well as the North Carolina Republican Party Assistant Treasurer.   Commissioner Crotts resigned as the Davidson County Republican Party treasurer effective December 1st 2016 to prevent a local conflict of interest once sworn in as a County Commissioner.

Commissioner Crotts was elected as the 13th District Republican Party Chairman on April 29th 2017.   The 13th district covers parts of Guilford, Rowan, Iredell, and all of Davidson and Davie County. He currently serves on both the State GOP Executive Committee and the State GOP Central Committee.

Commissioner Crotts holds his Life, Health, Medicare Supplement, Long Term Care, Property, and Casualty licenses in North and South Carolina. He holds all except Property and Casualty in Virginia and Ohio.   Commissioner Crotts completed ISO 9001:2008 internal auditor training through NC State University.
