Proposed Changes to Fire Service Districts

In order to provide better fire protection within the County, the Davidson County Fire Marshal’s Office has requested the relocation of boundary lines of four fire service districts and extension of two fire service districts. There will be a Public Hearing regarding these proposed changes at the April 14, 2014, Board of Commissioners’ Meeting.

Davidson County GIS received GIGa Award

The UNC Center of Public Technology along with NCLGISA and the Local Government Federal Credit Union has recognized the Davidson County Parks and Recreation mobile application developed by Kevin Pearson in the GIS division of the Information Technology Department with a 3rd place GIGa award. The GIGa awards presented annually with submissions from all local governments and K12 across the State of NC.

These items came into the possession of this Department in excess of 180 days ago and to date, no claim has been filed for ownership. Fairy Garden Workshop

Learn from Master Gardeners how to create a fairy garden on April 10 from 12pm-1pm at the Davidson County Agricultural Building in Lexington. A guided tour of the demonstration gardens will be available following the workshop. Cost is $10 which covers plants and soil.
