| To interview applicants for public assistance benefits, Adult Medicaid, and Food Stamps, and to verify certain information necessary to make a determination of eligibility. Duties will also involve processing of applications and case maintenance for above listed programs for clients. Other duties may be assigned by Supervisor. This position maybe located in our Thomasville office. |
| A two-year degree from an accredited program in a human services or related curriculum; or graduation from high school and two years of paraprofessional/clerical public contract experience, one of which must have been in an Income Maintenance program; or graduation from high school and three years paraprofessional/public contact experience; or a four-year degree or three completed years of college-level course work. In addition to the above requirements, candidates for the position must have one year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker I. Persons who qualify as an Income Maintenance Caseworker I's will be considered if no qualified II's apply. The salary would be adjusted appropriately.Must have a valid North Carolina Driver License. |
| Good interviewing skills, ability to work rapidly under stressful situation, i.e. deadlines, heavy interviewing, and ever changing policy. Must be willing to work in either Lexington or Thomasville. Ability to utilize a personal computer and an integrated software system is required. The position also requires almost continuous use of the hand for writing. |
| Should be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs.; Consistently maneuver within the office area; Should possess clear, concise and fluent English speech patterns and functionally normal hearing. This position will work primarily indoors and may be repetitive motions and long periods of sitting. |
