Davidson County's new Central Permitting office will administer environmental health permits, zoning compliances, and building and utility permits.
Customers and businesses can now apply and retrieve permits in one location.
The CP Department is located at 912 Greensboro Street, Lexington, NC 27292.

-CENTRAL PERMITTING SERVICES-

The Mission of the Davidson County Environmental Health Section is to safeguard life, promote human health and protect the environment through the practice of modern environmental health science, the use of technology, rules, public education and above all, dedication to the public trust.
At the Central Permitting Department customers will be able to submit applications for all types of environmental health permits. The Central Permitting Department will provide assistance from environmental health technicians from 8 AM- 10 AM and 4 PM - 5 PM. Approved permits will also be picked up at the Central Permitting office which conveniently houses a zoning officer and building permit technicians which will continue your development process.

The Planning and Zoning Department's mission is to carry out a comprehensive planning program designed to promote and maintain the orderly physical growth and development of Davidson County.
The CP Office will have a zoning officer from 8 am - 5pm who will administer zoning compliances for residential structures and will work closely with the Planning and Zoning department to approve commercial requests.

Fire Marshal’s Office Mission Statement:
To Preserve Life and Property from Fire, Explosion, Electrical and related Hazards through prevention, life safety education, investigation, and enforcement of fire codes. To provide technical assistance to fire departments, the public, industries and schools in obtaining these goals.
The CP office will collect fees and plans for the Fire Marshal department along with the building plans for commercial and institutional structures.

Construction of safer buildings through code enforcement.
The Davidson County Inspections Department is authorized by the North Carolina General Statutes to enforce the North Carolina State Building Code. Our primary function is to accept plans for review and issuance of building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical permits. We also issue permits for modular and manufactured homes as well as demolition, signs, renovation and swimming pools. We are responsible for the enforcement of the Floodplain Ordinance and the compliance of all structures within the county relative to the Building Code.
The CP Office will also be home to Davidson County's Inspection Department! Our inspectors will be in the office 7:30-8:30 am to answer questions. The Inspection Department Director and Commercial Plans Examiner will also be present in the CP Office.
