(3 Yr. Update for the 10 year Solid Waste Plan)

Davidson County Integrated Solid Waste Department consists of three divisions to meet the residents of Davidson County's needs. The divisions are Landfill, Sanitation, and Recycle.
The Davidson County Landfill Permit #29-06 is a Sub-Title D Lined Sanitary Facility. North Carolina Law states that all waste must now be placed in a permitted Landfill. This 550+ acre site, located in the heart of Davidson County on Old Highway 29, has been established as an Enterprise Fund. This means the facility is self-sufficient and not dependent on the General Tax Base for funding. All operations are funded through revenues received from tipping fees, state grants, and the sale of recyclables.
The Phase I area of operation, located on Roy Lopp Road, was closed November, 2008. At this time we started operating in the Phase II area of operation. Life expectancy for the new Landfill addition (Phase II) should be 30+ years. The life expectancy for Phase II can be extended through diligent waste reduction from all Davidson County residents. Please RECYCLE!
