Each winter the Davidson County Parks and Recreation Department offers youth basketball program for the youth of Davidson County to participate in. Sign-ups are held in late October, please contact your local booster club to see when and where they are holding their sign-ups. The season starts in early December and runs through late February, this includes the local post-season tournament. Games are played during the Saturday's and some week games. Games are played at area high and middle schools, at West center Street Gymnasium. We use National High School Federation rules, with some local exceptions. Fees? A $5.00 participation fee for each participate that plays in the program.

Description:
The Davidson County Recreation and Parks Department offer three age categories in our youth basketball program. Little League- Any boy/girl is eligible if he/she is 9 years of age on or before August 31 and not 12 years of age on or before August 31 of that playing year. Each child will have 3 years of eligibility. There will be an instructional division for 9 year old children (the children in their first year of eligibility in this program). The purpose of this division is to allow the 9 year old child to complete against other children of the same age. The regular division will be for any 9 year old child that a local booster club deems ready for this division and all other children in this age group. Junior League- Any boy/girl is eligible if he/she is 12 years of age on or before August 31 and not 14 years of age on or before August 31 of that playing year. Each child has 2 years of eligibility. Senior League- Any boy is eligible if he/she is 14 years of age on or before August 31 and not 17 years of age on or before August 31 of the playing year. Each child has 3 years of eligibility. Any child who participates on high or middle school basketball teams will be ineligible in this program. All games are played by National High School Federation rules with local exceptions. All games are played on Saturday's at area high and middle school gyms.
