Cost: Yes Indoors/Outdoors: Indoors Description: The AARP Driver’s Safety program is the nations'' first and largest classroom driver refresher course specially designed for motorist''s age 50 and older. It is intended to help older drivers improve their skills while teaching them to avoid accidents and traffic violations. The course fee is $12 for members you must have your AARP account number to receive this discount and $14 for those who are not a member. Upon completing the 4 hour AARP Driver’s Safety Program, you receive a course completion certificate. Thirty-seven states have mandatory discounts for completing the course; unfortunately, North Carolina is not one of those. However, discounts are sometime offered voluntarily by insurance companies to people of certain ages who complete an approved driver refresher course. Check with your insurance agent to determine if your insurance company offers voluntary discounts. Pre-registration is required for the course by April 26 by calling at 474-2754.
