Davidson County 4-H is once again taking orders for the fall fruit plants sale. Blueberries, blackberries, muscadines, apples, pears and more!
Extension Master Gardener Plant Sale
Stop by the Lexington Farmers’ Market on October 1 at the Depot downtown to browse and buy some outstanding ornamental perennials to plant in your yard this fall. Plants are grown local — from local nurseries as well as directly from the Master Gardeners’ gardens!
Notice of Public Hearing
Notice is hereby given that the Davidson County Board of Commissioners will conduct public hearings beginning at 7:00 p.m. on October 25, 2016, at the Davidson County Commissioners’ Meeting Room, fourth floor, Davidson County Governmental Center, 913 North Greensboro Street, Lexington, North Carolina. The purpose of the public hearings is to consider, pursuant to North Carolina General Statute Section 153A-303 an extension of the Fair Grove Fire Service District.
Paving Needs - 2017
The North Carolina Department of Transportation is currently in the process of evaluating our Division paving needs for the 2017 paving season. As part of this process we are reaching out to seek your input into this process. If there are state maintained roads in your area that you would like to be considered, please send these comments to me no later than September 30, 2016.
Yard Smart Series
Looking to spruce up your yard? Attend the YARD SMART workshops hosted by Davidson County Cooperative Extension and taught by Kira Chaloupka, Extension Horticulture Agent. We’ll start with the basics of soil management, cover the proper plants and turfgrasses of the Piedmont and finish the series out with common problems in the landscape. All workshops are free and open to the public.
Library offers access to video games for PCs and Android from OnePlay.
OnePlay gives the library the ability to offer downloadable video-games for all ages to library card users. Games do not expire on the patron's device.

Davidson County Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the Inaugural Piggleball (Pickleball)Tournament, Thursday, October 20 - Sunday, October 23, 2016.
Teaching Scholarships
Applications for the Davidson County Teaching Scholarship are accepted twice a year--September 1st through November 15th and January 1st through March 15th.
