Commissioner Cathy Dunn is a life long resident of Davidson County. She was raised in the Linwood Community and has resided in the High Rock Lake Southmont Community for the past 32 years. Commissioner Dunn has one son, Chris, who is a retired Army Ranger, and one granddaughter.
Commissioner Dunn is the owner of Biscuit King restaurants. She received the Lexington Chamber of Commerce award for “Outstanding Business Person of he Year” and has been included in the Cambridge “Who’s Who for Executives and Professionals.” She was recently selected to receive the Cambridge “Who’s Who Top Honor – As Executive Professional of the Year 2007-2008 representing food and beverage operations. Honorees are selected from 99 industrial and professional business fields based on respect, distinction, and uprightness of charter and personal integrity. This year, only four people received this honor.
In addition to her business pursuits, Commissioner Dunn commits many volunteer hours to her community. She supported the Workforce Development Board for eight years and served as an Executive Board member and as Chairperson of this Board. During her tenure, she received an award for the Outstanding Workforce Development Board member. Commissioner Dunn also served the secretary and Executive Board member for Crime Stoppers of Lexington and was recognized as an Outstanding Crime Stopper Executive Board Member. Commissioner Dunn was elected as the first Executive Board President of the Yachtsman’s Point Home Owners Association and was a guest columnist for The DIspatch for seven years, also writing feature stories for this newspaper.
Commissioner Dunn is serving her first term as a Davidson County Commissioner, and her term will expire in December, 2012.
