The Davidson County Historical Museum
               ....Your source for local history!

The Historical Museum is located in the 1858 Old Courthouse. Read more about our upcoming 150th Birthday Celebration.

Davidson County Historical Museum   -  The Museum offers a number of ways to learn about local history - through on-site exhibits and education programs, outreach programs, publications and web resources. We offer onsite permanent exhibits about the Old Courthouse and the county's development from the North Carolina backcountry into a manufacturing center during its first 200 years of history.

The Museum is located in a historic 1858 courthouse listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Our our website you can find more information about the Old Courthouse: Our exhibits are always on Davidson County's local history and our relation to North Carolina and the American South. The 1910 silk wedding gown and Court artifacts shown here are part of our pernament collection.

Our Permanant Collection has over 11,000 artifacts donated, for the most part, from Davidson County citizens. The Museum also maintains a large image and archival collection.
