2021-2022 Poster & Essay Contest

"Soil & Water.....Yours for Life" is the theme for the 2021-2022 Conservation Poster and Essay Contest.

Congratulations to our County Poster & Essay Contest Winners!

Marley Ray's poster was selected as this year's County poster winner.  Marley is a 6th grade student from Central Davidson Middle School.  Adrionna Mulligan's essay was selected as this year's County essay winner.  Adrionna is a 6th grade student from Oak Grove Middle School.  Thank you to all 6th grade students and teachers who participated in our Conservation Poster & Essay Contests held during the Fall of 2021.  Both contests are designed to supplement the instructions on natural resources as given in the classroom. The intent is to alert students to conservation principles and measures as they relate to each student's life. It is the hope that some of these principles will be absorbed, carried forth in life, and be used by the individual for the betterment of our community.

The District/County winners in both contests were entered in the Area VIII poster and essay contests, which is made up of 12 Counties. Marley's poster was selected as the 2nd place winner in the Area VIII Contest, and Adrionna's essay was also selected as the 2nd place Area VIII winner.  The County and Area contest winners were rewarded with monetary gifts, trophies, plaques, and certificates. The teacher of the County winners was awarded with a monetary gift also.  Congratulations Marley and Adrionna!

Thank you to our teachers for teaching our young people conservation and your willingness to participate in our Poster & Essay Contest is greatly appreciated.
