About Us

The Davidson County Animal Shelter is an open admission facility that is primarily funded by Davidson County government and donations. We are a shelter established to protect, feed, and house the stray, injured, abused or unwanted animals in this county. The shelter's vision is to give abandoned and neglected pets a second chance to live long, healthy lives in safe, loving homes and return lost animals to their rightful owners.

Pet of the Month

Fig is another long term resident who has been at the shelter since May 2018! Fig was found as a stray and no one ever came looking for her. She is a beautiful and sweet tuxedo girl with an adorable meow. Fig loves to climb on your lap to be petted and  likes to lounge around doing nothing or staring out the window. Fig knows she's a queen and would rather rule her castle by herself, in other words, she prefers the company of people over other animals. She likes what she likes and is not afraid to tell you what she doesn't like so small children are not recommended. If you would like to give this girl a home, please come by the shelter to meet her!
