About Us

The Davidson County Animal Shelter is an open admission facility that is primarily funded by Davidson County government and donations. We are a shelter established to protect, feed, and house the stray, injured, abused or unwanted animals in this county. The shelter's vision is to give abandoned and neglected pets a second chance to live long, healthy lives in safe, loving homes and return lost animals to their rightful owners.

Pet of the Month

Wexler

Are you looking for a handsome wingman or someone to be the life of the party? If so, Wexler is your guy! He turns heads and grabs attention everywhere he goes with his beautiful markings and adorable lop-sided ear. Wexler would be best in a home with an experienced owner willing to work with him. He is an active boy that loves to play and get plenty of exercise, but because of his size and rough way of playing, children are not recommended. He is approximately 2 years old but still a pup at heart. He is 50 pounds, and is already neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $55.
