About Us

The Davidson County Animal Shelter is an open admission facility that is primarily funded by Davidson County government and donations. We are a shelter established to protect, feed, and house the stray, injured, abused or unwanted animals in this county. The shelter's vision is to give abandoned and neglected pets a second chance to live long, healthy lives in safe, loving homes and return lost animals to their rightful owners.

Pet of the Month

Hey ya'll! I'm Waverly and as you can see I'm a beautiful miniature black panther and I have been calling the shelter home since March! All of my babies have been adopted and I am still here waiting and to find my forever home! People often ignore me because I'm quiet and black so I blend in but I'm here! Waiting for you! I'm a year old sweetheart who loves to give head bumps and to be petted on my rump. Like the elegant panther that I am, I do not like to be picked up, and I'd rather not share my house with dogs but I have plenty of love to give for my people and get along with other cats. If you are looking for a laid back miniature panther to keep you company on these cold nights, I am the girl for you.  Come meet me!
