The goal of our Health Education section is to develop, maintain, or reinforce positive health behaviors, help change attitudes, and increase knowledge and awareness of health issues, in order to encourage a healthy lifestyle. To accomplish these goals we provide guidance on educational methods, techniques, and materials to health department staff, work with community organizations and citizens concerned with the delivery of health care and health education. We also provide presentations regarding healthy living to the community.
These activities promote the over-all health of the community. Currently the focus includes:
- Increasing physical activity
- Promoting healthy eating
- Reducing tobacco use
