North Carolina Retirement System:  Employees eligible for retirement benefits contribute a mandatory 6% of their compensation to the NC Retirement System.  Davidson County contributes 12.91% of an eligible regular employee's gross salary and 14.04% of an eligible LEO employee's gross salary.


401(k):  Administered by Empower through the NC Supplemental Retirement Plans - Employees eligible for retirement benefits may enroll to contribute to 401(k). Contributions can be made either on a pre-tax basis or a ROTH, after-tax basis. Davidson County contributes 1.5% of an eligible regular employee's gross salary and 5.0% of an eligible LEO employee's gross salary.

457b: Administered by Empower through NC Supplemental Retirement Plans - All employees are eligible to contribute to the 457b plan. Contributions can be made on a pre-tax or a ROTH, after-tax basis.
