North Carolina Retirement System: Employees eligible for retirement benefits contribute a mandatory 6% of their compensation to the NC Retirement System. Davidson County contributes 7.58% of an eligible regular employee's gross salary and 8.25% of an eligible LEO employee's gross salary.

401(k): Administered by Prudential Retirement - Employees eligible for retirement benefits may enroll to contribute to 401(k). Contributions can be made either on a pre-tax basis or a Roth, after-tax basis. Davidson County contributes 1.5% of an eligible regular employee's gross salary and 5.0% of an eligible LEO employee's gross salary.
