Updated March 25, 2020

At the recommendation of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and the Davidson County Health Department, in response to reducing exposure of at-risk populations to COIVID-19, Senior Services operations will be as followed:

Senior Centers, Lexington and Thomasville – All scheduled programs, classes and activities are canceled.

Congregate nutrition sites are closed. Clients will continue to receive meals using a site drive-thru. Clients will be notified of the meal order and pick-up process.

Clients that do not drive will have their meals delivered to their home.

Cancellations and closings are effective immediately through April 30, at which time, resuming normal operations will be reassessed.

At this time, Meals on Wheels, In-home aide and Transportation services will continue normal operations.

NC DHHS recommends that people at high risk of severe illness from COVID-19 should stay at home to the extent possible to decrease the chance of infection. High risk includes adults over 65 years of age, those with underlying health conditions including heart disease, lung disease, diabetes or those with weakened immune systems.

Senior Services staff are available Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., by calling 336.242.2290, to answer any questions you may have.
