Special Olympics

Special Olympics is a winning combination of sports, sharing, and caring. Special Olympics Davidson County offer year-around training and competition in over 15 different Olympic style sports.

Benefits

Special Olympics Davidson County offers local, state, and international competition is open to athletes eight years old and older. Special Olympics contributes to the athlete's physical abilities, but it also provides psychological and social development.

  • Winter Games are held at the J. Smith YMCA.
  • Sports Offered at Winter Games: Bowling, Basketball, Motor Skills and Play Activities.
Spring Games
  • Each Spring Special Olympics Davidson County offers Local Spring Games.
  • 2020 Spring Games will be Friday, April 24 (Rain Date: May 8, at Central Davidson High School
  • Sports Offered at Spring Games: Softball Throw, 50 Meter Walk/Dash, 100 Meter Walk/Dash, and Standing/Running Long Jump.
