Wildlife & Foliage


Be sure to bring your binoculars when visiting to catch a glimpse of our spring and fall migrant birds. Boone's Cave Park is also home to all types of wildlife including:

  • Amphibians
  • Deer
  • Squirrels
  • Raccoons
  • Reptiles
  • Wild Turkey


As you hike along the Boone's Cave Park trails be on the lookout for one of nearly fifty native wildflowers.

North Carolina's prized Eastern Cottonwood tree is 169 feet tall, the trunk is 16 feet around, and the canopy is 109 feet wide. The Cottonwood tree is located along the shore of the Yadkin River.
