Lake Thom-A-Lex Park is owned by Cities of Lexington and Thomasville. The park is under the operation of the Davidson County Parks and Recreation Department.
April through Labor Day, 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Day After Labor Day through October 31, 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
November 1 through March 31, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Lake Thom-A-Lex Park will be closed on following dates for Holidays:
New Year's Day
Area fisherman can launch their boats at the access below the Wardens office. The cost to launch a boat is $4 plus $2 to fish. If you do not own a boat, you can use one of the three floating piers or bank fish for $2. All fisherman must have current North Carolina fishing license and lake permit. Bait Shop is now closed, and will Re-Open April 1, 2018.
Area residents can launch their kayak or canoe for $2. Kayaks can now be rented at the park, solo kayak can be rented for $15 for 4 hours, and a tandem kayak $25 for 4 hours.
Swimming & Pets
No swimming is allowed, the lake is the water source for the Cities of Lexington and Thomasville. No pleasure boating, water skiing, or jet skiing is allowed.
All pets must be leashed and are not allowed in lake and playground area.
