Civil Divsion

Responsibilities

One of the statutory obligations of any Sheriff in North Carolina is the responsibility as the enforcement arm of the North Carolina General Court of Justice. This duty includes the service of civil and criminal processes issued by the Court and providing courtroom security in the District and Superior Court sessions in the County.

As there are two separate responsibilities, the Davidson County Sheriff's Office Civil Division, under the supervision of Captain E. Curry, fulfills each of these functions for the citizens of Davidson County.  Capt. Curry can be reached to answer any questions by calling 336-242-2243 any Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Capt. Curry has more than 20 years of combined law enforcement experience with different agencies.  He has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Western Carolina University.  Capt. Curry has been a criminal justice/law enforcement instructor for 17 years where he is specialized in several different areas including defensive driving, physical fitness, and self defense.  He is also a member of the Davidson County Sheriff's Office Emergency Response Team.
