Qualifications:

Must be 21 years of age

Must be a U.S. citizen

Must possess a valid NC driver's license

Must have a High School diploma or GED

Must be a resident of North Carolina

Salary Information:

Deputy I (sworn / entry level): $35,425.00

Detention Officer I (non-sworn / entry level): $34,272.91

Detention Officer I (BLET certified): $35,425.00

Signing Bonuses

  • $2,000.00 one-time only bonus to persons applying for Deputy Sheriff and Detention Officer positions
  • $3,000.00 one-time only bonus to persons applying for Deputy Sheriff and Detention Officer positions who have 3 years or more experience as a law enforcement officer or detention officer
