"We All Live In A Watershed" is the theme for the 2020-2021 Conservation Poster and Essay Contest.
Materials, contest rules, and details for the 2020-2021 poster and essay contest has been sent to 6th grade teachers at all middle schools in Davidson County. Both contests are designed to supplement the instructions on natural resources as given in the classroom. The intent is to alert students to conservation principles and measures as they relate to each student's life. It is the hope that some of these principles will be absorbed, carried forth in life, and be used by the individual for the betterment of our community.
District/County winners in both contests will be entered in the Area VIII poster and essay contests, which is made up of 12 Counties. The Area VIII winners will be entered in the NC State Competition. The County, Area, and State contest winners will be rewarded with monetary gifts, trophies, plaques, and certificates. The teacher of the County winners will be awarded with a monetary gift also.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, a narrated Power Point presentation is available relating to the contest topic for your use. The presentation can be found at: https://youtu.be/-rGqZ9hasx4. We can arrange to make a live presentation of the Power Point using "ZOOM", or similar online format.
