What to do if your pet is missing

  • Take a look at our Stray Animals Gallery. We also, post pictures of stray animals that are currently in our shelter on our Facebook Logo Opens in new window
  • Call us to report your missing pet (336-357-0805).
  • If you have access to Facebook, post a picture of your missing pet with your contact information on your personal page (make sure it is Public). Post the same information on other Facebook pages or groups, like Lost and Found Pets of Davidson County, etc. 
  • Visit the shelter on a regular basis to ensure your pet has not been brought in.
  • If your pet is microchipped, make sure your information is up to date. 
  • Place a large sign in your yard to alert anyone passing by of your missing animal.


What to do if you have found an animal

  • You must call the shelter to make a report on the animal you have found (336-357-0805).
  • Bring the animal to us or a nearby veterinary office to be scanned for a microchip. 
  • If you have access to Facebook, post a picture the found animal with your contact information on your personal page (make sure it is Public). Post the same information on other Facebook pages or groups, like Lost and Found Pets of Davidson County, etc. 
  • Place a sign in your yard to alert people passing by that you have found said animal.
  • If you have found the potential owner, it is recommended to ask for proof of ownership.
