Agency provides additional help to seniors amidst Covid-19
Davidson County, NC - While using recommended precautions amidst Covid-19, Davidson County Senior Services continues to operate its Meals on Wheels, In-Home Aid and Transportation services. In addition, the agency has now added additional services targeted at those high-risk of coronavirus.
Those services include shelf-stable and frozen meals, grocery shopping and delivery, medication delivery, pet food, daily telephone wellbeing checks and other assistance identified as a need that can be met.
“Our agency has gone to great lengths to enact precautionary measures to be able to provide assistance to older adults. While continuing our regular services, we also wanted to help high-risk adults that may find themselves in a situation where they are isolated in their homes and may not have what they need to get through this crisis,” states Thessia Everhart-Roberts, Senior Services Director. “We have established a hotline for individuals to call that may need assistance.”
Individuals eligible to receive the additional services are Davidson County residents, age 65 and older, who are isolated and do not have family or other support.
Seniors that need help are encouraged to call the hotline at 336-236-3015, Monday – Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
