The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is accepting applications for its new veteran identification card program.
The new, free I.D. card was ordered by Congress in 2015 as a way to give veterans proof of service at businesses without carrying a copy of their DD-214 forms.
Veterans should visit the www.vets.gov website to apply. Questions or issues regarding this process should be directed to the Veterans Administration Regional Office in Winston-Salem at 336-631-5474.
