Adoption

The Department of Social Services offers Adoption Services to assist children, who would not otherwise have a home of their own, in becoming permanent members of a loving family. These children are, for a variety of reasons, not able to be reunited with their biological families and have been placed in foster care. Adoption provides the children with a permanent family where they can receive love, care, protection, and have opportunities essential for their personal growth and development. Adoptive parents assume all legal rights, obligations, and responsibilities for the child once the adoption is final.

Non-Discrimination

Davidson County Social Services does not discriminate in the provision of services to all qualified persons.
