The Davidson County Department of Social Services is governed by a five-member Board of Directors. Two of the seats are appointed by the State DSS Board, two seats are appointed by the Davidson County Board of County Commissioners, and one seat is appointed by the DSS Board itself. The DSS Director reports to this Board.
